Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a broadly utilized technology today that allows billions of devices to connect and exchange massive amounts of data from one location to another at any time. In general, focusing on energy efficiency at all levels of the Internet of Things (IoT) leads to Green IoT (GIoT), which lowers costs while minimizing human health risks. Green IoT depicts IoT theory with increased energy efficiency. We begin with a review of the internet of things, its architecture, and then move on to a discussion of green IoT, its applications, strategies, and the issues that arise from the overuse of energy-hungry IoT devices. The study presented in this paper focuses on energy efficiency in the Internet of Things. Some challenges, future direction, and prospects were presented by the authors.
